Not to say the couple themselves, too – and today's idyllic Hampshire country wedding is a lovely illustration of this for action, having a dress customized by the bride and her mother, flowers grown through the bride's stepfather, homemade stationery, cakes through the bride's mum and cousins, and her brother as celebrant.
To choose her wedding gown, Kitty visited Exquisite Bridal Couture in Winchester, even though they are very sadly now closed. There she discovered her elegant, impeccably structured gown.
To the graceful simplicity of her full-skirted dress, Kitty and her Mum embroidered flowers and bees on fine tulle, after which added to the bodice, shoulders, and trailing on the back like a nod for their rural venue.
Niek looked smart inside a custom-made deep blue suit (using the wedding date embroidered around the lining inside). He also wore shoes as a tribute to his Dutch homeland. Here
"We met on Tinder while I was an intern in Amsterdam. It was an immediate connection to the love of food, travel, and occasional! Niek proposed around the sofa following a lovely night at home having a trinket ring therefore we could go ring shopping together. We were engaged for 1.5 years."
Kitty enjoyed a drink together with her lovely bridesmaids ahead of the ceremony, plus they looked wonderful in lilac polka dot tulle dresses with colorful floral embroidery.
To complement the color of the bridesmaids' dresses, the pair's flower girl wore lilac floral dresses for girls by FeelTimes.
"The venue would be a huge inspiration. Whimsical wilderness with flowers along with a rustic feel. My stepfather is a gardener, and he did a large amount of work towards the venue too as growing huge amounts of flowers, that they installed yesterday."
As part of the ceremony, family members made speeches toward the happy couple, plus they also exchanged rings, that they had made.
"We walk past them often, and it would be a lovely memory getting fitted on their behalf."
Words of Wedded Wisdom
"Planning a marriage puts your relationship to the test. It's amazing the number of things you argue about. Just remember it is simply one day for the rest of your lives. It should be special however it won't be perfect, and that's ok since you have one another, and that's what it's really about. Remember to concentrate on why you’re married and try to benefit from the ride!”
