From the day the coronavirus breakdown in China happened, Vietnam is keeping an eye on the situation and is working on comprehensive measures to stop the virus from entering the country and preparing the health safety measures. Vietnam is not only protecting its population but its visitors as well from contaminated from the virus. Travelers who want to visit Vietnam in the early 2020s are confused because of the spread of the virus in Vietnam and they are thinking about which place in Vietnam would be safe to plan the holiday.

Current Scenario of Coronavirus in Vietnam

The first confirmed case of coronavirus in Vietnam came on January 23, 2020. The confirmed cases in Vietnam till the date are 16, from which 13 are Vietnamese, 2 are Chinese and 1 is American. The city to be found infected from coronavirus are, 11 cases in Vinh Phuc, 3 cases in Ho Chi Minh, 1 case in Nha Trang and 1 case in Thanh Hoa.

Vietnam Government Steps for Preventing COVID-19

On 1st Feb 2020, the Prime Minister of Vietnam declared the coronavirus an epidemic. Although the confirmed cases are not that much in Vietnam as compared to other countries, the government of Vietnam is taking strict action against the COVID 19. Some of the actions taken by the government of Vietnam to prevent coronavirus are following

  • Closure of border crossing between China and Vietnam.
  • The flights are suspended to enter from and going to China and South Korea.
  • The medical screening on the Airports to all the travelers especially coming from China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Italy and Iran.
  • Four new hospitals are designed to handle the cases of coronavirus.
  • The health care facilities in Vietnam increase the preventive and the control measures in the country.
  • The tourism activities and festivals are cancelled by the government.
  • The public schools are temporarily closed in the country.

Safety Precautions for People

  • If you are feeling the symptoms of fever, cough and cold and feeling difficulty in breathing then immediately contact the health care service and share them your travel history.
  • Maintain some distance from the people, especially from those who are coughing and sneezing. Stay at least a meter away from each other.
  • You should frequently wash your hands with soap and water. If you are going outside from the house then you should definitely carry alcohol based sanitizer and use it as often as you can.
  • Keep a bundle of tissues with yourself and cover your face and mouth with the tissue whenever you cough or sneeze. Don’t forget to throw the tissues immediately in the dustbin.
  • Make sure that the food you are eating is properly cooked, especially if you are eating non vegetarian food and dairy products. It’s better to avoid eating non vegetarian food for some time.
  • Start wearing face masks in the public place and make sure that your mask is properly covering your nose and mouth and if you are using the same mask daily then wash your mask regularly and after removing the mask wash your hands properly.

Changes in Flights and Visa Due to Coronavirus

All the flights coming from China and going to China are suspended from 1st February, 2020 by the government. The flights are changing their routes which are connecting to Macau, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Many airlines in Vietnam have reduced from going to South Korea whereas Vietnam Airlines and Bamboo Airways have cancelled all the flights going to South Korea. Vietnam has also suspended visas to the citizens of South Korea and Italy on a temporary basis.

We all know how serious this situation of coronavirus is spreading the whole world and becoming an outbreak in the world. It’s better to be responsible and take preventive steps before getting caught.
